The Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS) is a specialized service under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. The IDAS officers are responsible for managing the financial and accounting functions of the Indian Defence forces, including the Army, Navy, and Air Force.

Training Structure: The training structure for IDAS officers includes both foundation training and specialized training.

Specialized Training: After completing the foundation training, IDAS officers undergo specialized training at the Defence Services Staff College (DSSC) in Wellington. The specialized training is divided into three phases:

Phase 1: This is a 26-week training program that covers subjects such as financial management, accounting, and audit.

Phase 2: This is a 26-week training program that focuses on practical training, where officers are posted in various field offices of the Ministry of Defence to gain hands-on experience.

Phase 3: This is a 26-week training program that covers advanced topics such as defence procurement, contract management, and project management.

Training Academy Name: The National Academy of Defence Financial Management (NADFM) in Pune is the training academy for the foundation training of IDAS officers. The specialized training for IDAS officers is conducted at the Defence Services Staff College (DSSC) in Wellington.
