The Indian Audit and Accounts Service (IA&AS) is a premier auditing and accounting service in India. It is responsible for auditing the accounts of the central and state governments and public sector organizations in India.

Training Structure: The training structure for IA&AS officers includes both foundation training and specialized training.

Foundation Training: The foundation training for IA&AS officers is conducted at the National Academy of Audit and Accounts (NAAA) in Shimla. This is a 15-week training program that focuses on building the officers' overall understanding of the Indian administrative system, as well as developing their interpersonal and leadership skills.

Specialized Training: After completing the foundation training, IA&AS officers undergo specialized training at the National Academy of Audit and Accounts (NAAA) in Shimla. The specialized training is divided into three phases:

Phase 1: This is a 26-week training program that covers subjects such as financial management, accounting, and auditing.

Phase 2: This is a 26-week training program that focuses on practical training, where officers are posted in various field offices of the IA&AS to gain hands-on experience.

Phase 3: This is a 26-week training program that covers advanced topics such as international accounting standards, e-governance, and project management.

Training Academy Name: The National Academy of Audit and Accounts (NAAA) in Shimla is the training academy for both the foundation and specialized training of IA&AS officers.
